The Fabienne Colas Foundation plays an important role in the promotion of Haitian cinema, art and culture around the world. One of its objectives is to become a major source of funding for cultural organizations and production companies striving to promote independent cinema in general and black cinema in particular..
In the spirit of building bridges between Quebec and Haiti, in addition to organizing, for almost 6 years now, the Montreal International Black Film Festival, the Foundation also launched the “1st Quebecois Film Festival in Haiti” in March 2009 as part of the Journée Internationale de la Francophonie. This first edition of the festival proved to be a great success.
